DIDDY DOES IT AGAIN

Diddy is getting another MTV reality show this fall. His hit MTV reality show, “Making the Band,” will be getting it’s own spinoff called “Making the Rock Band.” The new show will take on the basic structure of the first set of Making the Band shows, except this time they’re aimed at the new rock genre.

MTV programming head Tony DiSanto says:
Our main goal is to always pull the rug out. If something is working great, we don’t want to do it again, we want to do something new. Our viewers expect us to keep evolving, genre-busting and taking chances.

DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN

Ne-Yo appears a bit fresher than usual and it’s no accident. The 28-year-old—whose third and latest album is aptly titled Year of the Gentleman enforces a clean cut dress code. “Sammy Davis Jr. had an effortless cool when he wore a suit,” says Ne-Yo. “I want to bring that back into the game.”
What is it about a suit that dignifies a man?

I’m not saying you have to throw on a three-piece suit to be a gentleman every time you walk out of the house, but on the other hand, a gentleman understands what it means to dress for the occasion. I learned that you can put on a suit and be as comfortable, if not more, than in a pair of jeans... You have to make a conscious effort to keep your nails short and clean.

Really? Manicures?
That’s something I used to never give a damn about, and I learned the hard way. People were saying, “How’s Ne-Yo got on a $2,000 suit and his nails are dirty?”
How have your style tastes changed over the course of your career?
You have to understand that I was the songwriter dude spending 23 hours in a studio. All of a sudden I’m in the spotlight, and what you look like is more important than your talent. I’ll keep it all the way real with you: I wasn’t the guy who knew how to dress. It was difficult at first, but I take pride now in knowing what looks good on me.

VINCE YOUNG ALMOST QUIT THE NFL

For the first time this year, the people at EA Sports elected to put a retired player on the cover of their Madden video game. Unbeknownst to them, they almost did the same thing last year. Vince Young was ready to quit football after his rookie year.
He doesn't go into great detail about the reasons, but he did tell Thomas George of NFL.com that things were once so bad for him that retirement was a viable option.

"I really thought long and hard about it. There was so much going on with my family. It was crazy being an NFL quarterback. It wasn't fun anymore. All of the fun was out of it. All of the excitement was gone. All I was doing was worrying about things." "My teammates helped lift me out of it. I prayed really hard. And I began to focus on God's calling for me. Play football. Be a role model."
