BRANDY'S CAR ACCIDENT AN INSPIRATION

Nearly two years after a fatal car accident, R&B singer Brandy says she barely got through the ordeal. “It was a tough situation to go through. I can’t really talk about it in any great detail because of legal matters but it was just something that I don’t like to think about often” the “Right Here (Departed)” singer told Ryan Seacrest Monday. “I prayed a lot and I had great people around me to help me up and lift my spirits and I got through it. I don’t even think that I’m all the way over it.” Getting in the studio to record “Human,” her forthcoming album, due in December, Brandy says certain songs were inspired or linked to the pain and emotional rollercoaster following the accident and subsequent legal issues. “Right Here (Departed)” ended up being a song that was specifically related to friends and family who stuck by her side. “A lot of people can related to that song because everyone needs someone to be there for them.”

Could Kobe Go to Europe?
Rumors are swirling around that Kobe may have a lucrative offer coming his way from a European basketball team after this season. The team is Greek club Olympiacos who recently signed Josh Childress to a pretty good deal. The offer is rumored to be $60 million for three years. But along with that salary comes a villa on the Mediterranean Sea, a private yacht, and the team paying all the taxes on the salary.

Former '106 & Park' host Free has landed a new gig.
The one-time BET vee-jay, whose real name is Marie Wright, has joined New York City's Power 105.1 FM radio station as a co-host on the 'Ed Lover Morning Show.' Free joined the station officially on Oct. 14 and broadcasts on weekdays from 6am to 10 am.
This isn't the Massachusetts-bred talent's first stint in radio. After her unceremonious departure from the top
-rated '106 & Park' after hosting the show for five years, Free joined the now defunct Los Angeles station The Beat 100.3 FM and hosted an afternoon show called 'Free's World.' She left that station after they switched from a Hip-Hop and R&B format to become an Urban Adult Contemporary station.

THIS WAS EVERYONE'S JAM

Now this song will take you back to the memories of house parties/school dances with the BASS on BLAST and people doing the tootsie roll. My Boo was one of the most memorable song of the 90's... by the Ghost Town DJs (or Ghostown DJs). The Ghostown DJs are a former African-American hip-hop group who recorded the 1996 hit "My Boo". The song was influenced by the music scene in Miami, with a deep, throbbing bass line. They also wrote other hit songs like, "Shorty Swing My Way", "Let Me Love You Down", "At Night I Think Of You", and "My Boo Remix".

Beyonce Knowles Carter has made a personal donation of $100,000 to the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund benefiting victims of Hurricane Ike in the Greater Houston area who've lost homes, property, and jobs.
The Fund was established at the request of Houston Mayor Bill White to help fill human needs for victims located primarily in Galveston, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Harris and Montgomery counties.
The Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund will provide aid to nonprofit organizations providing immediate relief in the area including shelter and temporary housing, food and household supplies, transportation and child care.

The Survivor Foundation donated the House of Dereon Media Center for Rhonda and Nathan's wedding and reception. It was the first wedding ever held there.

BEYONCE IS A SONG STEALER?!

2 ARTIST 1 TRACK: BEYONCE vs. BC JEAN
Beyoncé has got the internet going nuts... Rumor has it that she swagger jacked the “If I Were A Boy” track from up and coming pop/rock singer and songwriter BC Jean. The track was produced and co-written by Toby Gad along with BC Jean. The truth is that when BC’s record deal fell through, co-writer Toby Gad kept the track and shopped it around to big name artists. The same thing happened with Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, also produced by Gad. Not saying that it's fair, but this is very common in the music biz. You can hear BC Jean’s version of “If I Were A Boy” below and compare to Beyonce's version. Which track do you like best?

KANYE GETS EMOTIONAL

Kanye says that his new album, 808's and Heartbreak, is about emotional nakedness, and most of the songs are about his breakup with one specific woman. "Coldest Winter" is the latest track to be released from the Chi-town rapper. "Coldest Winter" is dedicated in memory of his late mother, Donda West. 808's and Heartbreak has been slated for a December release, in order for it avoid collision with Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3, for which Kanye serves as producer. Take a minute tolisten to the track below.

THE WAIT IS OVER!

Sony Pictures has announced that next month, on November 11, they will release on DVD 'This Christmas' and 'The Perfect Holiday', two holiday films that folks have been asking about since the films were released in theaters last year.
Produced by Will Packer and Rob Hardy of Rainforest Films, 'This Christmas' stars Delroy Lindo, Loretta Devine, Regina King, Idris Elba, Sharon Lea, Mekhi Phifer,
Columbus Short, Chris Brown, Laz Alonzo, Lauren London, Keith Washington, David Banner, Ricky Harris, and Jessica Stroup.

In the film, Christmas with the Whitfields promises to be one they will never forget. All the siblings have come home for the first time in years and they've brought plenty of baggage with them. As the Christmas tree is trimmed and the lights are hung, secrets are revealed and family bonds are tested. As their lives converge, they join together and help each other discover the true meaning of family.

Directed by Lance Rivera, 'The Perfect Holiday' stars Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Malik Hammond, Charlie Murphy, Faizon Love, Jeremy Gumbs, Jill Marie Jones, and Rachel True.
An African-American take on the classic and beloved Christmas family film, 'The Perfect Holiday' tells the story of Nancy (Union), a divorced mother of three who is so busy raising her children that she's forgotten to take care of herself as well. With Christmas fast approaching, she decides to take her kids to the mall to meet Santa Claus, not knowing that her youngest daughter Emily (Khail Bryant) has sensed her mother's sadness and is determined to use her time with Santa to make her mom happy again. Just a few days prior, Emily heard her mom say that all she wanted for Christmas was a compliment from a man, so that's exactly what she tells Santa. Ironically, Santa, as it turns out, is office supply salesman and struggling songwriter Benjamin (Chestnut), who ends up giving Nancy just what she wants for Christmas, and much, much more.

SMELL JUST LIKE HALLE

The Sexiest Woman Alive, Halle Berry, lauched her new fragrance in New York. Halle by Halle Berry is due to be in stores by March 2009…
We call Halle my second baby,” she said, “because that’s really all I’ve been working on for the past two years.” Throughout the process, the actress insisted on being involved in just about every aspect creating the fragrance, from doing scent tests to helping design the bottle itself — and made sure that the woody oriental included two of her most-loved notes. “I was mixing two fragrances, a fig and a mimosa, and putting them in a bottle and carrying them around,” she says. “That was my flavor of the moment.” And it’s a flavor she hopes men will appreciate as much as women. “I want women to feel that their partners, that special person, thinks they smell beautiful, thinks that it’s simple enough that they can ingest it all day, every day. That’s what Gabriel said,” she adds, of her boyfriend Gabriel Aubry’s take on her signature scent. “He said it smells like that — he better be right!”

NOW SEE THIS: BEYONCE

Here’s the long awaited video for “If I Were a Boy,” the first of two singles off Beyoncé’s third album I Am… While some listeners will immediately think of Ciara’s similarly-titled Like A Boy because of the similarity in subject matter, the vibe and song makeup are both completely different. B definitely delivers! For most, after viewing the music video it made them like the song a bit more. Beyoncé’s third album drops November 18th. Watch the video below.

COLUMBUS SHORT FEATURED IN HORROR FILM 'QUARANTINE'

Coming out this week is the horror film 'Quarantine' that features Columbus Short, Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, Greg Germann, Steve Harris, Dania Ramirez, Rade Sherbedzija, and Johnathon Schaech. Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night-shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood-curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, Internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew's videotape.
