Da Brat's Victim Hires a Shark

The woman that rapper Da Brat is accused of assaulting with a rum bottle at a Halloween party has retained noted Florida attorney Willie Gary to represent her.

Shayla Smith, 24, who has been a Falcons cheerleader for the past 4 years, was working as a part time waitress at Studio 72 in Tucker, Georgia when the incident occurred on Oct. 31st. Reportedly, Smith bumped into Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris - and a shoving match ensued.
After Smith walked away, Da Brat allegedly swung a rum bottle at Smith. The bottle broke causing a deep facial laceration and cuts on her head.

Smith and her attorneys plan to pursue legal action against the owners of the club - which includes Island Records president of Urban Music, Jermaine Dupri.

Da Brat, 33, was arrested the night of the incident and charged with felony assault. She bonded out of the DeKalb County Jail the following night on $50,000 bond. Her request for a reduced bond was denied.
