Nonprofit organization Aid Still Required (ASR) has gathered a handful of NBA stars to participate in their campaign to get aid in the Darfur region of Sudan. For the last five years there has been civil war raging on with close to 400,000 Africans murdered plus countless women and children raped. Aid Still Required is calling on NBA stars like Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Baron Davis, Derek Fisher, Emeka Okafor, Matt Barnes, Andrew Bynum, Ira Newble, Eric Snow, Luol Deng and others to get the word out about Darfur through various public service announcements.
"The people of Darfur are being systematically tortured, disfigured and slaughtered. Collectively we have the means to stop the violence and to restore their lives" said Hunter Payne co-founder of Aid Still Required.

Its about time someone steps up to speak out for a good cause!

As a former UCLA athlete, I understand the influence athletes have over the community. If an athlete wants to use their status to speak out, I believe there is nothing greater.

Darfur is a region in desperate need of aid. So many innocent people raped and killed... This will bring them HOPE. Something we all deserve in this life.

I applaud these men and their efforts to make a change. They are great role models for all. If we all get involved, there is no limit to the difference we can make.

I agree with you Brittany... It's good to see NBA players standing up for a great cause. They have an influence on many people, so for them to say get involved it could help make the difference.
