Mariah Carey is on the cover of the UK’s, The Observer Music Monthly. Mariah did an inteview the UK magazine talking about the difficulties of being a celebrity:
“Here’s the thing … as a human being this is a very abnormal state to be in,” Mariah admits “To meet people who have already formed an opinion of who you are prior to meeting you based on the sweeping generalizations that they have read, well, not that it doesn’t happens in other jobs but clearly it happens more in this job..which happens to be a job even though people don’t think of it as a job, but it is…”
Mary J Blige is featured in the May 2008 issue of Upscale magazine inside the magazine she talks about Beyonce:
"A lot of why I was so raw when I came into this is because I had no guidance. Look at Beyonce. She was groomed for this. Before she even got to a record label. Momma's making the outfits. Daddy's managing. And they are on it. That girl's getting told about herself if a hair is out of place or she says one wrong word. Where I came from, we didn't have that. Those of us who got into the industry; we got there by chance and we didn't know how to carry ourselves".
