E3 RUMOR CONTROL

Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP), Ludacris’ Atlanta-based record label, has re-signed a long term distribution deal with Antonio “L.A.” Reid’s Island Def Jam Music Group. This officially lays to rest any rumors that had previously stated that Def Jam had dropped DTP, and all of its artists, from their roster.

The Atlanta Hip-Hop scene and the Dirty South movement in general owe more than they can ever repay to Chris,” Reid said in a statement. “Our friendship stretches back more than a decade and I never cease to be amazed at his imagination, creativity, and most of all his outrageous sense of humor.
“Now changing business conditions necessitate that we review our respective rosters and focus to ensure that future opportunities and challenges are aggressively achieved,” Reid continued. “Ludacris has built Disturbing Tha Peace into one of the iconic names in hip-hop, one that will remain an important part of the Island Def Jam family
.”

While it is clear that DTP will still be backed by Def Jam, the status of their R&B artists - Shareefa, Steph Jones, and Bobby Valentino - is unclear at this moment.
