THE GOOD LIFE

Actress-turned-video-vixen-turned-actress MEAGAN GOOD talks about her role in “The Love Guru,” her video vixen status, and being taken seriously in Hollywood; in a interview by COMPLEX magazine. In this summer’s Mike Myers yukfest, The Love Guru, the 26-year-old stunner plays the wife of a hockey superstar.

In The Love Guru you play the wife of a hockey player. Were you able to relate?
I can relate in the sense that he left her. He left because of his feelings of inadequacy. He felt he wasn’t going to win the World Cup—

You mean the Stanley Cup?

Yes, the Stanley Cup. [Laughs.] That’s the one.

I take it you’re not a huge hockey fan.
Ehhh...I follow boxing a little bit.

Do you get frustrated when people forget about your previous acting and just peg you as a video vixen?
A lot of people ask me “How do you make the transition from video girl to actress?” It’s a little frustrating because I was acting before I did videos. But if somebody knows me as a video vixen, I’m not mad at that at all.

Is Hollywood taking you more seriously now?

Yeah. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s good. I feel like I paid my dues.

As far as movies go, what’s your take on nudity in films?
If it’s done artistically, and it’s necessary for the scene, that’s one thing. But when people show full on breasts and A-S-S, it’s just shock value.

The three NYPD detectives in the Sean Bell case were acquitted Friday on all charges.BACKSTORY: Sean Bell died in a hail of 50 bullets fired by a group of New York police officers outside a strip club in Queens on Nov. 25, 2006. Bell was leaving his bachelor party with two friends and was to be married later that day to his fiancee and mother of children Nicole Paultre. NO CLEAR WINNER AFTER SUPER TUESDAY

In the Super Tuesday battle for delegates for the Democratic nomination for president, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton battled to a split decision.

Despite a heavy black voter turnout, Senator Hillary Clinton edged out Senator Barack Obama in the race for democratic delegates on Super Tuesday. While Obama was a slight favorite with the under 30 voters, Clinton surged to a double digit lead over Obama in delegate-rich California with support from women and Hispanics.

All yesterday did was set the stage for more of what has become an intense struggle to be number one when the Democratic National Convention happens this Summer in Denver from August 25-28.

IT'S SUPER TUESDAY!
