E3 FLASHBACK FRIDAY

After watching the new movie Notorious, a lot of my friends and acquaintances were very vocal about the depiction of Tupac Shakur. So with that in mind, for today's Flashback Friday joint E3 chose 2 videos from the late and great Tupac Shakur. The 1st video is one of Shakur's most touching and poetic works, his debut solo single, "Brenda's Got a Baby", taken from his album 2Pacalypse Now. The song features R&B singer Dave Hollister. The 2nd video, "I Ain't Mad at Cha," was the last music video Shakur ever filmed before his death. Peep both videos below.

BLAST TO THE PAST

Here we go again... It's Flashback Friday and that means it time for an ol' skool video. So, today E3 is taking you back to 1991. The days when BET was actually pleasant to watch and had good shows like Video Soul, when R&B was at its best. Who could forget those days? That's when men started to sport earrings, people rocked starter athlectic jackets that beared your favorite team's logo, those gold chains called "dope-ropes," and the guys had those crazy fresh fades like the gumby hair cut and the flat top. I can clearly remember trying to stay up late to sneak and watch the Arsenio Hall Show. So, if you are old enough to remember most of that, then you probably will remember this Flashback Friday artist, R&B singer Tony Terry. Terry's biggest hit to date was 'With You,' which reached #6 on the R&B charts and #14 on the Hot 100. Watch the video below and check out the cameo of Blair Underwood.

MORNING VIDEO SOUL

What's up E3 readers! For today's Flashback Friday joint E3 decided to go with one of our favorite R&B singers, who was the first R&B singer signed to Def Jam's Def Soul Label. This singer has been away for a minute but has recently signed a new deal with a new label and is working on a new album to be released in 2009. For your listening pleasure, E3 would like to dedicate this song to anyone who has a special person in their life who showed you the true meaning of LOVE... And like the video it maybe someone who you didn't expect.

THIS WAS EVERYONE'S JAM

Now this song will take you back to the memories of house parties/school dances with the BASS on BLAST and people doing the tootsie roll. My Boo was one of the most memorable song of the 90's... by the Ghost Town DJs (or Ghostown DJs). The Ghostown DJs are a former African-American hip-hop group who recorded the 1996 hit "My Boo". The song was influenced by the music scene in Miami, with a deep, throbbing bass line. They also wrote other hit songs like, "Shorty Swing My Way", "Let Me Love You Down", "At Night I Think Of You", and "My Boo Remix".

NOON NOSTALGIA

Great Jams never go out of style... Do you remember Uncle Sam and his hit "I Don't Ever Want To See You Again"? What about "Baby You Are" with Gabrielle Union in the music video.

STRESSED OUT... THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!

With the news of definitely knowing that A Tribe Called Quest will never, ever record a new album again. E3 thought for Flashback Friday to play a video from one of Hip Hop's most legendary, beloved and revered groups of all time. A group that addressed issues relevant to young blacks and promoted positivity through their rhymes. Relax and reminisce as you watch E3's Flashback videos below.

SUMMER JAM

For this week's edition of Flashback Friday E3 Gossip decided to dig deep in the vault and pick out a classic summer jam from the 90's. This song just floods back memories of sleeping in late because school was out. Going to family cook-outs, sitting outside eating a big juicy slice of watermelon, or just cruising around town in the car with the windows rolled down (that was the good ol' days when gas was like 89 cents a gallon). Enjoy the video and have a HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

NEW JACK SWING

This all-female trio scored a string of Top Ten R&B hits that established them as one of the most popular urban R&B groups of the '90s. Originally the name TLC was first intended for this group but TLC beat them by a couple of weeks to the name. Many famous singers have covered some of their hits such as Jojo, Christina Aguilera, and more recently Leona Lewis; who did a cover for today's Flashback Friday video.

BALLERS... SHOT-CALLERS... BRAWLERS...

Hip Hop and Ya Don't Stop... Today's Flashback Friday video is best known as the fourth single released from the Puff Daddy album No Way Out. This single made it to No. 2 on the Billboard charts and its video won a "Viewer's Choice" award at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards show. Warning: This is the explicit version

STREET BUT SWEET

Despite her short career, Aaliyah sold approximately 32 million records worldwide and starred in two motion pictures before being killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas. In 2000, Aaliyah landed her first major movie role in Romeo Must Die, which debuted at number one at the box office. A loose adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Aaliyah and Timbaland executive produced the film's soundtrack album and she contributed four songs: "Are You Feelin' Me?", "I Don't Wanna", "Come Back in One Piece," a duet with DMX and the international number one hit "Try Again."

OL' SCHOOL FLAVA

This girl trio signed to Sean "Puffy" Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment label, they first attracted attention backing the Notorious B.I.G. on his hits "One More Chance" and "Juicy," soon after scoring their own hit with the single "Can't You See" from the soundtrack to the film New Jersey Drive. The trio's self-titled debut LP followed in 1996, launching the hits "No One Else," "Kissin' You," and "Do You Think About Us?"

DA BOMB BABY!

E3 couldn't resist when it came to this classic 90's jam. Everyone had this joint bumping in their car back in the day. So let's just cut to the video... Happy Flashback Friday!

MIGHTY FINE

Good Morning to all... It's finally Friday and hopefully everyone has had a great week. If not then let's start your weekend off right with some morning soul. It's Flashback Friday and E3 has picked a great jam from 1995. Today's video comes from an artist who has been associated with Raphael Saadiq, The Roots, Common, Erykah Badu, and Angie Stone to name a few. Born in Richmond, VA this artist first hit the scene in their late teens after penning the hit song "U Will Know", performed by Black Men United for the movie Jason's Lyric. Sit back and enjoy your flashback morning soul.

E3 FLASHBACK FRIDAY

For today's flashback video E3 decided to post a song from 1998 that incorporated two young ladies who have been in the game for a minute and both are currently working on a new album set to drop late this year.

E3 FLASHBACK FRIDAY

This Canadian R&B singer-songwriter and actress held the record for longest-running number one single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (14 weeks) in 1998 with this song.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

With all the hoopla and recent events surrounding a certain power couple, E3 thought this video by Case would be so approriate for Flashback Friday.

E3 FLASHBACK FRIDAY

It's FRIDAY y'all! So for this edition of flashback friday, E3 decided to dig up a video from 1997 that features two celebrities currently in the limelight because of the drama and rumors with their significant other.
