Hip-hop’s most notorious figure, Marion “Suge” Knight, is suing hip-hop’s reigning rapper, Kanye West, over a 15-carat, $135,000 diamond stud earring that was stolen from him three years ago.
According to the lawsuit filed on September 12 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles, Suge blames Kanye for allowing someone to smuggle a gun past security at West’s pre-MTV VMA party in Miami back in 2005, where an unknown person shot Suge in his upper right leg, shattering a bone and stealing his earring.
The Death Row Records co-founder, who recently filed for bankruptcy, requests that the earring either be returned or replaced because he has been “deprived of the use and enjoyment of the earring.”
Kanye says that his new album, 808's and Heartbreak, is about emotional nakedness, and most of the songs are about his breakup with one specific woman. "Coldest Winter" is the latest track to be released from the Chi-town rapper. "Coldest Winter" is dedicated in memory of his late mother, Donda West. 808's and Heartbreak has been slated for a December release, in order for it avoid collision with Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3, for which Kanye serves as producer. On July 15th, MTV will air “From G’s to Gents,” a new show produced by Jamie Foxx, which takes 15 young G’s from across the country with great potential under their rough exterior and polishes them up. Hosted by Fonzworth Bentley (known for his umbrella holding days as Diddy’s personal assistant), the men will be schooled on how to lose the front, focus their passion, and market themselves.
