according to BV: Jawn Murray had an exclusive interview with 'Girlfriends' executive producer Mara Brock Akil where she gave some insight on the eighth season of the longest running African-American sitcom.

The biggest news was the departure of Aaron, the love interest who finally proposed to Joan in the final episode of last season. Richard T. Jones is leaving the show for a new show on Fox called ''The Sarah Connor Chronicles.'

What am I going to do with that? We're gonna work with that in a beautiful way. I'm excited about it to go on the journey yet again with Joan," Brock revealed to the BV Buzz. "Who's to say I'm getting rid of [the] Richard T. Jones [character]? Don't underestimate me!"
