OPRAH'S WORLD DOMINATION CONTINUES

The Oprah Store opened on Thursday right down the street from Harpo Studios on Chicago’s Near West Side. The 5,500-square-foot store will house around 900 products that represent “the style and taste Oprah celebrates and shares on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’” her publicist said in a statement. “The interior was created to evoke a loft-like urban feel with exposed ceiling along with the extensive use of bamboo wood, brushed metals and green chocolate-flaked marble.” Items include everything from books and workout gear – to cosmetics bags and homemade keychains – to a $300 pair of crocodile boots. The store also carries a signature line of baby products called “O Baby,” and select arts and crafts from South Africa.

Alicia Keys to Play Lena Horne

A Lena Horne biopic has been in the works for years and as far back as 2004 singer Janet Jackson was slated to play the role until Lena apparently had her booted because of the Superbowl scandal. Not much was heard about the project after that but now Page Six is reporting that Oprah Winfrey has taken control of the project and cast Alicia Keys in the lead role.

Oprah raved about the new project at the premiere of "The Great Debaters" saying:
"We're going to start filming next year," she revealed. "And we've got Alicia."

Oprah's Dogs Will Inherit Millions

It pays to be one of Oprah Winfrey's pets!

According to an insider, Oprah's pampered pooches stand to inherit a whopping $30 million if they happen to outlive their owner.

"Oprah has a menagerie of animals and she wants them to be pampered for the rest of their lives if she were to die first," a friend reveals. "She has five dogs plus various other pets, so she rewrote her will to include millions for their care."

Although a $30 million trust fund may sound extravagant, it's not much more than pocket change to the media mogul.

"Oprah's a billionaire so that's not a lot of money if you look at her entire net worth," her friend points out.

Oprah VS. Quincy

O vs. Q

So the battle of Hill vs. Obama has been taken one step further. Oprah Winfrey, who has been extremely instrumental in the campaign for Barack Obama, is holding a benefit for the Presidential hopeful. Supposedly, Jamie Foxx is on the guestlist as well as Beyonce and Jay-Z.

That’s not all…industry legend Quincy Jones is doing the same…for Hillary Clinton. I mean the results of this will have a bigger effect on the world than the sales of Kanye vs. Formula 50 – minus the Kenny Chesney.

Oprah’s gala will happen on September 8th. Mr. Jones should hold his on the same day…talk about a danceoff!
